So this is my long and laborious efforts for the beautiful creatures contest. I was originally going to do both a dark and a light. but the dark one took up all my time and so tada!
I was going for the whole her eyes turn gold when shes all crazy evil thing. So basically my theme going on was gold. The background is Martha Stuart Metallic house paint. and the giant gold splatter radiating from her hand/ memory necklace thing is made with gold leaf which is like 10xs more reflective than the housepaint. everything else was painted in matte acrylics which means no reflection whatsoever. its fascinating in person. It really creates this dynamic depth in a way.
The stuff... Shes all slutty because from what I gathered from the books, thats what happens when you go dark. At one point in the book she was kinda dangling in the darkness and she wore this super mini skirt and short shirt that made her look "easy", so that kind of inspired me. The trees are supposed to be from the town she lives in at the moment and the rocks floating up towards her are representing her ability to control the elements.
